Penicillin (Penicillin G) works by inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis, while Streptomycin inhibits protein synthesis. Penicillin-Streptomycin is effective against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. This antibiotic is recommended for use in cell culture media at 20 ml/L.
